Open a completely blank page in Chrome when the new tab button is pressed

By default, Chrome shows a Google search bar and your most visited sites if you open a new tab. In previous versions of Chrome there where features that could disable this behaviour, but currently the best way to do it is with an extension.

  1. Install the New Tab Redirect extension.
  2. Set the URL in the options to: chrome-internal://newtab
  3. Save the options.
  4. It’s done.
